Artemis 2 is the first crewed Artemis mission and the first time humans have traveled around the Moon since 1972. The spacecraft will not land; instead, Orion takes four astronauts on a lunar flyby to validate life support, navigation, communications, and deep-space crew operations before future landing missions.
